Q: How can I get assistance?
A: You can download and fill out the intake packet at https://idyllwildhelpcenter.org/ihc/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Intake-2019.pdf and then bring in the packet to our Client Services Administrator, Skye during office hours.
Q: What services do you offer?
A: Our services include 1 weekly bag of non-perishable food items, firewood for heating, health and hygiene products and when grant funding is available: utility assistance and medical assistance. After becoming a client, services can be obtained by making an appointment at (951)659-2110.
Q: What are the Office hours?
A: Open Tuesday-Friday 10am – 12pm; 1pm -4pm. The Office hours are different from the Thrift Store hours, which are listed below.
Q: What qualifications/paperwork are required to obtain assistance?

Q: When do you accept donations?
A: We accept food donations everyday, 10am – 4pm. If the office is closed, feel free to find a Thrift Store Associate and they will help you bring your donations into the office.
Q: What can I donate/ what do you need?
A: You can donate money via paypal with the donate button on our website. Checks can be mailed to or dropped off at the office. Food can also be dropped off at the office. We usually list the items we need on our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/IdyllwildHelpCenter/. Items for the Thrift Store such as clothing, furniture, or other miscellaneous goods can be dropped off in the donation area located at the Thrift Store.
Q: What are the Thrift Store hours?
A: The Thrift Store is open everyday 10am – 3:45pm. These hours are different from the Office hours, which are listed above.
Q: What donations do you NOT accept?
A: We do not accept sofa beds, mattresses, bed pillows, printers, fax machines, copiers, cribs, baby car seats/swings, blinds, tube tvs, water heaters, contraband/weapons, broken or heavily worn,soiled items. If you have any questions, feel free to call the Thrift Store at (951)659-3000.
Q: Do you pick up furniture/ large load donations?
A: At this point in time, we do not pick up donations. We hope to be able to set something up in the future.
Q: What does your non-profit benefit?
A: All Thrift Store sales, along with grant funding and community donations, go back into our programs and services provided via the Help Center Office.
Q: Are all of your employees volunteers?
A: We have a large volunteer base that we absolutely love! However, we do have 2 paid employees on site per day at the Thrift Store.
Q: Where do you get your Thrift Store merchandise?
A: Every item sold at the thrift store is donated! We are fortunate to have a very loving, giving and supportive community!!!
Q: Do you wash your donations/clothing items?
A: Unfortunately, we do not wash any clothing/linens donated to the Help Center. We do try to wipe off and clean whatever items we can!
Q: What items are you always in need of?
A: Men’s clothing, art, jewelry and nice furniture are items we can always use more of, but we are appreciative of anything and everything.
