Services/Program Information

  • Firewood – firewood for heating has been provided by the local tree contractors    and then is bucked up, split and then stored in our wood pen by the “MCFSC Woodies” on Friday at the Idyllwild Help Center.  During the summer the Woodies split their time between processing firewood for IHC clients and abating properties on the Hill for fire prevention.  Clients are eligible for wood each week and the amount varies depending on the wood supply.
  • Food – Clients are eligible for a weekly bag of non-perishable food items.
  • Food Vouchers – A grant funded program that provides a food gift certificate for food and/or diapers, amount is based on household size.  The program availability is based on grant funding.
  • Idyllwild Children’s Fund – For local children 0-18, this program provides a gift certificate to purchase clothing, such as snow boots, winter coat and other items the child has.  We are able to assist with the costs of Outdoor education, after-school sports or classes and childcare. he program availability is based on grant funding.
  • Utility – We are able to provide $100 towards electricity or propane.  The program availability is based on grant funding.
  • Medical – We are able to provide vouchers for medical care such as Doctor, Dentist, Chiropractic, Eye Exam and Glasses, prescriptions, over-the-counter, and gas vouchers to medical appoints off the hill. he program availability is based on grant funding.
  • Holiday Programs – This program provides a gift certificates to purchase food during the holidays and Christmas presents for local children.
  • Back to School Supplies – This program provides school supplies at the beginning of each school year.
  • Women’s Cabinet – This program was created and is supported by the Soroptimist International of Idyllwild.  The Women’s Cabinet provides toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, hand and bar soap, toilet paper, laundry soap, women’s hygiene items and many other much needed hygiene supplies.
  • WIC – Women’s, Infants and Children state program. An enrollment specialist comes to the IHC to enroll and keep enrolled participants compliant.
  • CAP – Community Action Partnership partners with the IHC to accept applications 
  • for Utility assistance and weatherization.
  • Mental Health – Referrals to counseling services.
